Butler Studio

HGO’s Butler Studio is one of the most respected young artist programs in the world. For almost 50 years, the Butler Studio has provided eight to twelve young singers and pianists per season a bridge between full-time training and full-fledged operatic careers. During a residency of up to three years, each artist trains and hones their craft on the HGO mainstage and at other venues around our great city. Alumni of the Butler Studio go on to perform at the most esteemed opera houses in the world—and many of these world-renowned artists regularly return to the HGO stage and back to the audiences who helped launch their careers!
