It’s hard to believe, but HGO’s season devoted to love in all its many forms—Truly. Madly. Deeply.—is coming to a close. And as it does, we’re taking an adoring gaze back at an incredible season with our new impact report for 2024-25.

“With your visionary support,” HGO General Director and CEO Khori Dastoor writes in the report, “HGO welcomed brilliant artists and creatives from around the world to the Wortham stage. We unveiled powerful new productions of Il trovatore and Tannhäuser, hosted outsize crowds for beloved favorites Cinderella, La bohème, and West Side Story, and embraced the cutting edge with modern masterpiece Breaking the Waves. Thanks to you, new audiences discovered the magic of opera, and more families than ever experienced its transformative power.”

HGO’s 2024-25 season was an ode to opera’s stunning voices, and a passionate display of artistry, ingenuity, and musicianship.

It was a time for engaging our city—welcoming more than 6,000 new audience members, and 13,000-plus people from outside Houston, to the Wortham—while bringing world-class art to outposts throughout the region in collaboration with 223 partner organizations.

It was a year of serving families with innovative new programming, including HGO’s first-ever Family Day, which reached 177% of its sales goal. And it was a season of optimism—investing in the future of our art form while charting our own path of growth over the decade ahead.

As Dastoor writes: “None of this would have been possible without you.” Please join us in celebrating the season’s success by exploring our 2024-25 impact report.
