During HGO’s 2026-27 season, Soloman Howard makes his company debut as Ramfis in Aida. Elsewhere this season, he reprises the role at the Metropolitan Opera; makes his debut at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo as the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlo; and makes his role debut as Heinrich in Lohengrin with the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, a role he later reprises with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Other engagements include the Commendatore in Don Giovanni with the Dallas Symphony and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Boston Philharmonic. During the 2025-26 season, Howard returned to the Royal Ballet and Opera to sing Sarastro in The Magic Flute, as well as Fafner in Barrie Kosky’s new production of Siegfried, a role he later sang on a European tour with the Rotterdam Philharmonic and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Howard also returned to the Metropolitan Opera as the Commendatore in Don Giovanni, made his Dresden Semperoper debut as Ramfis in Aida, performed Hunding in concert performances of Die Walküre with the LA Phil, and appeared as a soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest. Howard is a winner of the 2021 Washington Performing Arts Ambassador of the Arts Award and the Kennedy Center’s 2019 Marian Anderson Vocal Award.
