Biography

Seiyoung Kim is an alumnus of HGO’s Young Artist Vocal Academy. He is a recent graduate of the Yale School of Music, where he performed the title role in Le Comte Ory and Oronte in Alcina. This season, Kim's engagement include performing in Boston Public Library's Summer 2023 Concert in the Courtyard Series with Boston Lyric Opera, singing Britten’s Les Illuminations with the Sejong Soloists, performing Father in The Seven Deadly Sins with Yale Opera as a guest, and making his debut at The Glimmerglass Festival performing Little Victor Farrell in Elizabeth Cree. His other operatic roles include Tamino in The Magic Flute, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Jimmy O’Keefe in Later the Same Evening, and Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro (New England Conservatory); Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos (Wolf Trap Opera); and Fileno in La fedeltà premiata (The Juilliard School). He has covered the title role in Candide (NEC) and Tanzmeister and Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos (Santa Fe Opera). Kim is an alumnus of The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, and was a young artist with Wolf Trap Opera and Santa Fe Opera.
