During HGO’s 2026-27 season, Pretty Yende makes her company debut as Marguerite in Faust. Elsewhere during the season, Yende performs as Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with Vienna State Opera; Adina in The Elixir of Love with Vienna State Opera and Opéra National de Paris; Leila in The Pearl Fishers with Théâtre des Champs-Elysées; and Mimì in La bohéme at Gran Teatre del Liceu. In the 2025-26 season, she performed as Adina in The Elixir of Love with Gran Teatre del Liceu, Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with Vienna State Opera, Leonora in Il trovatore at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Violetta Valéry in La traviata with Opéra National de Paris, Liù in Turandot with San Carlo Theater, and Micaëla in Carmen with Tiroler Festspiele Erl. Yende’s honors and accolades include an award from the South African government ‘The Order of Ikhamanga in Silver' for her excellent achievement and international acclaim in the world of opera. She serves as a role model to aspiring young musicians and recently became a recipient of the Italian Knighthood, Ordine Stella d’Italia for her work in building extraordinary relations between Italy and other countries, making her the youngest South African ever awarded this accolade. In 2024, she made a historic appearance singing Amazing Grace at the ceremonial reopening concert of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. In 2023, Yende became the first African solo artist to perform at a coronation of a British monarch, for King Charles III Coronation at Westminster Abbey. In 2022, she was honored with an ‘Order of Arts and Letters.’
