During the 2024-25 season at HGO, Joshua Guerrero performs the role of Rodolfo in La bohème. In 2019 for the company, he performed the role of Arcadio in Florencia en el Amazonas. Operatic appearances during the 2023-24 season included the role of B.F. Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at both Deustche Oper Berlin and London’s Royal Ballet and Opera, Faust in Mephistopheles at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Luigi in Il tabarro at Vienna State Opera and Dutch National Opera. Engagements for the 2024-25 season include the title role in Don Carlo and B.F. Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly at Vienna State Opera and Don José in Carmen at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Among his major successes are the roles of Rodolfo at Opéra national de Paris and London’s Royal Ballet and Opera and Mario Cavaradossi with Dutch National Opera. Guerrero has appeared with many prominent companies internationally, including Opéra National de Bordeaux, Oper Frankfurt, Glyndebourne Festival, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, and Venezuela’s Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. Guerrero is a graduate of the Young Artist Program and the recipient of the Eva and Marc Stern Artist Award at LA Opera, a second prize-winner in the Operalia Competition, a Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant recipient, and a Grammy Award winner for LA Opera’s recording of Ghosts of Versailles (Best Opera Recording). Film and television credits include the Academy Award-winning animated feature film Coco by Disney/Pixar.
