During HGO's 2026-27 season, Henrik Nánási makes his company debut conducting Der Rosenkavalier. Elsewhere this season, he conducts Manon Lescaut at Teatro Colón, Carmen and Turandot at Wiener Staatsoper, a new production of Les pêcheurs de perles at Teatro alla Scala, Madame Butterfly at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as well as a European tour of Duke Bluebeard's Castle with Anna Netrebko, and The Flying Dutchman in concert at Birgit Nilsson Festival. On the concert platform, he will lead concerts of Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana and Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna. In the 2025-26 season, Nánási returned to the Bavarian State Opera for La traviata; made his Australian debut with a new production of Turandot at the Sydney Opera House; and conducted Werther at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Luisa Miller at the Hamburg State Opera, a symphony concert featuring works of Liszt and Bartók with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and a concert with Elīna Garanča and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. The General Music Director of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2012 to 2017, Nánási conducted new productions of Mazeppa, Eugene Onegin, Gianni Schicchi, La Belle Hélène, The Magic Flute, Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Duke Bluebeard’s Castle, The Fiery Angel, La clemenza di Tito, Cendrillon, and The Fair at Sorochyntsi, as well as revivals of Falstaff, Der Rosenkavalier, Rusalka, and Rigoletto, among others. During his tenure at Komische Oper Berlin, the company was named Opera House of the Year 2013 by Opera World Magazine and Opera Company of the Year 2015 at the International Opera Awards.
