During the 2025-26 season, Butler Studio and YAVA alumnus Blake Denson performs as Crown in Porgy and Bess. Other performances at HGO include his role debut of Ford in Falstaff (2023); Jailer in Dialogues of the Carmelites (2022); Gregorio in Romeo and Juliet (2022); Morales in Carmen (2021); Daddy/Tim in alternate cast performances of The Snowy Day (2021); Giving Voice (2021); Hansel and Gretel as Peter (2021); and Suite Española: Explorando Iberia (2021). Elsewhere during the 2025-26 season, Denson sings as the baritone soloist in the Brahms Requiem with the Minnesota Orchestra and performs the role of Tomaso in A Masked Ball with the Paris Opera. During the 2024-25 season, Denson made his house debuts at LA Opera and Paris National Opera, where he performed as Monterone in Rigoletto (2024). He also performed as Monterone at the Metropolitan Opera. In the 2023-24 season, Denson made his Metropolitan Opera debut singing the role of Prince Yamadori in Madame Butterfly, and he performed in Fire Shut Up in My Bones singing two roles, Pastor and Kaboom. Denson made another debut, with the New Orleans Opera, singing alongside Lissette Oropesa in a gala event. He returned to Wolf Trap Opera to sing in two productions: Marcello in La bohème and Mother in Seven Deadly Sins. Denson is the winner of the George London Foundation and The International Concurs Tenor Viñas Competition; a Grand Finalist Winner of the 2020 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions; and the recipient of a First Prize/Legacy Award from the National Opera Association. He has been honored by the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston, The Orpheus Vocal Competition, The Perfect Day Competition, The Pasadena Vocal Competition, Partners in Arts Vocal Competition, Annapolis Vocal Competition, Opera Ithaca Vocal Competition, and Opera Mississippi Opera Competition.
