During HGO’s 2026-27 season, Angel Blue performs the title role in Susannah and will appear as a special guest soloist for Giving Voice 2027. Previously for HGO, she performed as Bess in Porgy and Bess (2025) and Violetta in La traviata (2022). She is a two-time GRAMMY Award winner for Fire Shut Up in My Bones (2023) and Porgy and Bess (2021); a Beverly Sills Award recipient (2020); a Richard Tucker Award winner (2022); and a Wharton Arts Society 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree. She holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Redlands. Elsewhere during the 2026–27 season, Blue performs the title role in Aida at both the Metropolitan Opera and London’s Royal Ballet and Opera, as well as Desdemona in Otello at the Metropolitan Opera. On the concert stage, she appears as soprano soloist in Rufus Wainwright’s Dream Requiem under Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Orchestre Métropolitain, performs Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with Chineke! Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in her return to the BBC Proms, and performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Boston Philharmonic. She also gives a recital with pianist Bryan Wagorn at San Francisco Performances. In the 2025-26 season, Blue returned to the Opéra national de Paris to sing the title role in Tosca, and to the Metropolitan Opera to sing both Mimì in La bohème and Liu in Turandot. She performed Florent Schmidt’s Psalm 47 with the Houston Symphony, the Christmas in Vienna concert at the Konzerthaus Vienna, and concerts at the Grafenegg Festival. She also performed recitals with pianist Bryan Wagorn at Reykjavik Arts Festival, Spivey Hall, and Four Arts Palm Beach.
