Biography

Alyssa Barnes is a native Houstonian who currently serves as an adjunct professor at San Jacinto College and sings in the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. This past year, she performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera during their 50th anniversary season, covering the roles of Clara in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Pamina in The Magic Flute. Alyssa is a proud alumnus of Southern Methodist University where she earned her Master of Music and Performance Diploma in vocal performance. When she is not singing, Alyssa loves to dance, crochet, sew, and watch films.
