During HGO’s 2026-27 season, Ailyn Pérez performs the title role of Aida. Previously for the company, she performed as Leonora in Il trovatore, Cio-Cio-San in Madame Butterfly (2024), Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (2019), Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro (2016), and Desdemona in Otello (2014). Elsewhere during the 2026-27 season, her engagements include role debuts in the title roles of Manon Lescaut with Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Katya Kabanova with Santa Fe Opera, and the solo role in Ayre at Boston Lyric Opera, as well as her debut at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo as Elisabetta in Don Carlo, a return as Marguerite in Faust with the Bavarian State Opera, Desdemona in Otello with the Metropolitan Opera, and the title role of Tosca with the Minnesota Orchestra. Highlights or her 2025-26 season include her return to the Metropolitan Opera stage in the title role of Madame Butterfly and her role debut as Aida at Semperoper Dresden. Pérez also returned to the Bavarian State Opera several times during the season, beginning with Desdemona in Otello, on tour in Shanghai, followed by Nedda in Pagliacci, the concert Oper für Alle, and performances as Marguerite in Faust and the title role in Tosca. Pérez won the 2012 Richard Tucker Award, becoming the first Hispanic recipient in the award’s 35-year history, as well as the 15th annual Plácido Domingo Award.
