Houston Grand Opera is committed to making its website accessible to everyone.

What are we doing?

To meet this commitment, we are striving to make the site compliant within the guidelines of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user friendly for everyone.

Our website is designed to be equally accessible to those using current, standards-compliant web browsers or assistive technologies.

How are we doing?

Achieving compliance within these guidelines is an ongoing process. We're working hard to achieve our goal of Level A accessibility.

Disability Services Available


Reserved disabled parking spaces
are located in the Theater District Parking Garage on green level 2 near the Wortham Theater Center entrance.

Elevators provide access to all above-ground floors of the Wortham Theater Center.

ADA-compliant restrooms and wheelchair accessible water fountains are located on levels 1, 3, and 5.

Wheelchair spaces are available for patrons needing to remain in their wheelchairs during performances. The spaces are available in the Orchestra and Grand Tier sections of the Brown Theater and the Orchestra and Mezzanine sections of the Cullen Theater.

Companion seating is located adjacent to each wheelchair space.

Assistance with the removal of wheelchairs and scooters is provided by ushers, who also return them to patrons for use during intermission and at the conclusion of the performance.

Hearing-assistance devices are provided free of charge by the Houston First Corporation. No reservation required.

Audio-described performances are provided free of charge for persons with vision loss. Call 713-228-6737 at least 48 hours in advance to reserve.

The Box Office is located in the Wortham Theater Center (550 Prairie Street, Houston, TX 77002). Complimentary 20 minute parking is available for your convenience outside the Box Office on Prairie Street.

Tickets may be purchased or exchanged in person.
