My Favorite Things
Songs from The Sound of Music
Saturday, May 8 at University of Houston's TDECU Stadium
Houston is Alive with The Sound of Music!
Join Maria, the Captain, little Gretl, and all the Von Trapp voices for a joyful evening of music and merriment for all. From raindrops on roses, to drops of golden sun, we’ll follow every rainbow, singing our way to inspiration for a brighter tomorrow! My Favorite Things: Songs from The Sound of Music on May 8 will feature Jeanine De Bique as Maria and Michael Mayes as Captain von Trapp, accompanied by the HGO Chorus and Orchestra.
For the second year in a row, HGO had to cancel Opera Ball, the company’s most significant fundraising event of the season. We also had to cancel our entire 2020-21 mainstage season, including our highly anticipated production of Rodgers and Hammerstein II’s The Sound of Music. But now, we are thrilled to invite you to experience the timeless classic like never before: with a safe, family-friendly, outdoor singalong led by the stars from our cast, joined by the HGO Chorus and Orchestra!
We’ve created an uplifting evening full of our favorite things—and that must include you! Your support ensures that HGO can "climb ev’ry mountain" and provide the soul-nourishing power of great music to all Houstonians, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Multiple underwriting and ticket opportunities, including premium open-air seating, catering, parking, family activities, and more, are detailed below.
