Returning to the Wortham
Health and Safety
Safety Remains Our Top Priority
In order to get back to live performances, it is essential that we prioritize the safety of our staff technicians, cast, and creative teams, as well as that of our audience. When HGO returns to live performances at The Wortham Theater Center in October 2021, we are exploring many ways to reduce risks. At the current time we anticipate that we will have reduced capacities, however all current 2020–21 Patrons and Subscribers will be able to attend the productions to which they hold tickets.
The HGO Health Committee, comprised of health care professionals from our partners at Houston Methodist, and the CDC continue to recommend reduced-capacity audiences, maintaining a distance of six feet from others, masks, and increased cleaning and disinfecting measures. At this time, temperature checks remain in place at The Wortham Theater Center.
Additional protocols will be added to this page as we approach Opening Night. Please be sure to review this page before attending a performance.
It will take all of us working together and adhering to safety procedures for HGO to continue live performances. Before arriving at The Wortham Theater Center, we ask that you perform a self-assessment. If you are feeling unwell or showing any signs of COVID-19, we ask that you do not attend the performance. We will work with you to exchange your tickets for another time.
