About the Artist: Recent engagements for Patrick Carfizzi include Schaunard at the Metropolitan Opera in Franco Zeffirelli’s classic production of La bohème under the baton of Louis Langrée, Papageno in The Magic Flute at The Dallas Opera and Henry Kissinger in the San Francisco Opera premiere of John Adams’s Nixon in China. Other recent highlights include Paolo in Simon Boccanegra with both the San Francisco Opera and Metropolitan Opera, Brander in Berlioz’s The Damnation of Faust with the Metropolitan Opera, Dr. Bartolo in The Barber of Seville with Seattle Opera and Canadian Opera Company, Taddeo in The Italian Girl in Algiers with The Dallas Opera, and his European debut as Leporello in Don Giovanni with Cologne Opera. Additionally at the Metropolitan Opera, he has performed such roles as the Mandarin in Turandot, Masetto in Don Giovanni, Haly in The Italian Girl in Algiers, and Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
