  Strega Nona Graphic

Strega Nona (Italian for "Grandmother Witch") conjures a never ending supply of pasta from her magic pot. Her new assistant Big Anthony struggles to pay attention and floods the town with carbohydrates. The secret to the spell is love and understanding. Based on the Caldecott award winning story book by Tomie dePaola, this revival is one of Opera to Go!’s most requested productions.

Opera to Go! is the farthest reaching component of HGOco with over 170 performances and 62,000 audience members each season. Opera to Go! presents lively, fully staged 45-minute performances for today’s audience.

Seating for daytime performances is on a “first come, first served” basis for the covered seating area. NO TICKETS ARE NECESSARY. NO RESERVATIONS CAN BE MADE. As always, open seating on the hill. The shows goes on rain or shine. Contact operatogo@hgo.org for more information.
