Sarah and Ernest Butler Performance Series
We know that the 2020-21 season was out of the ordinary, and we thank you for your continued support of our fully digital season. Houston Grand Opera was proud to bring you wonderful operatic works as well as recitals live form the Cullen on our digital stage in partnership with Marquee TV. Be sure to check back later this summer to see what we have in store for HGO Digital in the 2021-22 season.
In the meantime, if you would like to revisit any of the exciting conversations we had during our interactive Monday Night Opera Series, you may access them here.
To support the series, Sarah and Ernest Butler, long-time HGO supporters, have made an extraordinarily generous gift to help underwrite HGO Digital programming. The pledge will support both Houston Grand Opera and Austin Opera, creating a strategic partnership between the two Texas companies.
Viewers around the world will be able to transport themselves to a front row seat and stream exclusive Houston Grand Opera Digital content worldwide through Marquee TV, an on-demand streaming platform dedicated to global arts and culture. Serving up a world-class catalogue of contemporary and classical masterpieces, including dance, opera, theatre, music and arts documentaries, Marquee TV has been designed for a growing digital audience of culture lovers and the arts-curious. This season's partnership arrangement between Houston Grand Opera and Marquee TV is the first of its kind with a US-based performing arts organization, granting Marquee TV access to stream Houston Grand Opera’s 2020–21 season exclusively. The subscription-based arts channel will host Houston Grand Opera’s brand-new content and allow users to access it for free through their website, app, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and other platforms.
