About

Zach Redler is a music theater composer whose work has been performed in concert halls, opera houses, and theaters around the world. In 2014, Redler and Sara Cooper were awarded the Jonathan Larson Grant from the American Theatre Wing for their work together (The Memory Show; Loving Leo; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner; and WINDOWS). More of Redler’s favorite theater compositions include: Movin’ Up In The World, A Song for Susan Smith, ADAM, Emily Sutton, and, their most recent American Prize-winning piece, The Falling and The Rising (libretto by Jerre Dye). In addition to composing for Music Theater, they teach music theory and composition privately and as adjunct faculty at NYU Tisch’s Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program and Molloy College. They are part of the new cooperative-based production company start-up Midnight Oil Collective.
