About the artist:

Travon Walker is a second-year master’s student at Rice University under the tutelage of Dr. Robin Rice. While at Rice, he has performed the role of Sam Kaplan in the Shepherd School of Music's production of Street Scene by Kurt Weill, and performed scenes from Così fan tutte, The Turn of the Screw, Lucia di Lammermoor, and West Side Story. Walker completed his undergraduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, where he made his operatic debut as The Reader in Ricky Ian Gordon’s The Tibetan Book of the Dead. He also performed the roles of Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd (canceled due to Covid-19) and Dan Leno in a virtual production of Kevin Puts’s Elizabeth Cree. Last summer, Walker was a studio artist at Wolf Trap Opera, and next season he will join the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Ryan Opera Center Ensemble.
