About the artist:

Eleven-year-old Nicole G. De la Torre is making her HGO debut. She is a sixth-grader at Lanier Middle School, where she is a member of the dance drill team and the school choir. In elementary school she performed as Ms. Henry in Ruby Bridges. For the last five years she has been a Mexican folklórico dancer, performing regional routines with Mixteco School of Dance and MECA Houston. In 2021 she participated in the final performance of HISD’s Summer Dance Intensive.
