Soula Parassidis is making her American debut with this performance with HGO. She first appeared on the international operatic scene in 2009 as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with the Ensemble Philidor in France. Later that year she performed Diane in Orphée aux enfers at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and the Salzburg Camerata, which was broadcast on ARTE on French and German television. As a member of the ensemble at Oper Leipzig, Parassidis performed a wide variety of leading roles in several productions. Parassidis’s Asian debut was with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra as Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito. She has been the recipient of generous support from the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as a multiple prize winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. Recent engagements brought her to the Theater an der Wien (Fedra in Teseo), the Opéra National de Bordeaux (Helmwige and Cover Sieglinde in Die Walküre), the Teatro Regio di Torino (Bice in Violanta), and the Teatro Massimo di Palermo (Elettra in Idomeneo). Her wide repertoire includes such roles as Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Chrysothemis in Elektra, and Elsa in Lohengrin.
