About:
John Conklin is an internationally recognized designer and dramaturg. He has designed sets on and off Broadway, at the Kennedy Center, and for opera companies around the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Bastille Opera in Paris, the Royal Opera, and the opera houses of Munich, Amsterdam, and Bologna, among many others. Conklin serves on the faculty of New York University's Tisch School and has served as an Artistic Advisor to Boston Lyric Opera since 2009. Conklin has worked as a set designer for HGO performances of Macbeth (1973), Carmen (1981, 1988), and La bohème (1991), and a set and costume designer for The Marriage of Figaro (1973), Werther (1979), Il trovatore (1992), Norma (1996), and Don Pasquale (2006).
