We are very sorry to have to share the news that our creative home is still in great distress, and will take much longer to repair than we originally thought.
In conversation with Houston First and Gilbane Reconstruction Services it was decided that the damage from Hurricane Harvey will take the Wortham Theater Center out of commission until at least May 15, 2018.
Please note that you may now use our normal Customer Care phone number, 713-228-6737, to reach our Customer Care staff between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have already purchased tickets, you do not need to contact us at this time. You may continue to purchase tickets for all operas this season. Once we know the new locations, our team will contact you regarding your tickets. We will make sure to share further updates as soon as we have them.

Although we are very sad that Hurricane Harvey has temporarily taken us away from our theatrical home, we are keenly aware that hundreds of thousands of individuals and companies around our great city are suffering much worse damage. Our hearts, dollars, physical labor, and spirits are all with our fellow citizens at this time. Houston Grand Opera is strong and determined to weather this new storm left in Harvey’s wake.
At the same time we want to express, on behalf of everyone in the Company, our deepest thanks to all of you who have made contributions. This invaluable assistance will help make the long road to recovery a bit easier for our colleagues and our operations.
