Let your wee one wiggle and giggle to opera's greatest tunes as the stories come to life with fun kinetic learning activities. Campers develop music and motor skills through the early fundamentals of singing and storytelling games.
Create An Opera camp is the perfect place for a mini Mozart or precocious Picasso. Campers collaborate to write, design, build, and perform a one-of-a-kind musical masterpiece based on Houston Grand Opera's first story book commission The Armadillo's Dream. This camp is perfect for singers and non-singers alike. A final staged performance for family and friends concludes this week long camp.
While exploring the world's diverse music and cultures, campers will develop a healthy singing technique and hone their music theory skills while preparing for a final performance showcasing group and solo repertoire. This year's camp will focus on the rich musical heritage of Spanish speaking cultures.
Boys' voices must be unchanged when camp begins.
