HGO Community and Learning is proud to present two incredible opera camps in the summer of 2024. Camps are for students in grades 3-12 and take place in 3rd Ward and Downtown Houston. Financial aid is available.
Create an Opera Camp
This year, HGO is partnering with Wheeler Avenue Baptist for an exciting camp. In one week, campers collaborate to write, design, build, and perform a one-of-a-kind musical masterpiece based on a children’s story. This camp is perfect for singers and non-singers alike! Presented in collaboration with Wheeler Avenue Baptist & pARTnerschools.
Art of Opera Camp
Campers enhance their vocal and dramatic skills by rehearsing and performing scenes from classic and modern operas at the Wortham Theater. This exciting camp fills quickly: apply early! All campers will take part in the production. Grades 9-12 (Entering 9th grade through graduated seniors). Students with interest and experience in backstage and technical roles (i.e., set design, costume, props, lighting, stage management, etc.) are welcome to apply.
