Andrew Surrena

Andrew Surrena is making his HGO mainstage debut as Young Sailor in Breaking the Waves. Recent roles include Armand de Clerval in Massenet’s Thérèse at Sarasota Opera (2023), Don José in Carmen with the Glacier Symphony in concert (2023), and Nadir in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers with Sarasota Opera (2022). Other roles with Sarasota Opera include Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas, Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Alfredo in La traviata, and Nando in Eugene d'Albert's Tiefland. Additional notable performances include the tenor roles in the world premiere of Voir Dire with Fort Worth Opera and Ferrando in Così fan tutte with Opera in the Heights. Surrena holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Northern Arizona University.
