About the Artist: Basso profondo Andrea Silvestrelli has recently appeared as Sparafucile in Rigoletto with Lyric Opera of Chicago and San Francisco Opera; Colline in La bohème, the Nightwatchman in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and  Pimen in Boris Godunov for Lyric Opera of Chicago; and in Ernani and as Sparafucile at the Metropolitan Opera. He has also sung Sparafucile at the Los Angeles Opera and Washington National Opera. In Wagner's Ring operas, he sang Fasolt and Hagen with San Francisco Opera, Fafner with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hunding and Fasolt in the Seattle Opera Ring, Hunding and Hagen in Mexico City, and Fasolt with Lyric Opera of Chicago.  Other important repertoire includes Sarastro in The Magic Flute (Santa Fe Opera, Tel Aviv); Osmin in The Abduction from the Seraglio (Bavarian State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago); the Commendatore in Don Giovanni (Royal Opera, Covent Garden; Netherlands Radio Orchestra; Teatro Comunale); Basilio in The Barber of Seville  (Los Angeles Opera); Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro  (Lyric Opera of Chicago); and Philippe II in Don Carlo (Graz,Welsh National Opera); and Timur in Turandot (Lyric Opera of Chicago and also in the Zhang Zimou production led by Zubin Mehta and performed by the Maggio Musicale in the Forbidden City).
