About the Artist: Denni Sayers works regularly with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden; Los Angeles Opera; San Francisco Opera; Glyndebourne; Paris Opera; Sydney Opera House; Lyric Opera of Chicago; Netherlands Opera; and the Salzburg and Bregenz festivals. As a director‚ her work includes revivals of Of Mice and Men for Washington National Opera and Ariadne auf Naxos for Boston Lyric Opera and Welsh National Opera; new productions of Tosca in Toronto and West Side Story in Tel Aviv; and Rachel Portman’s The Water Diviner’s Tale and two Dr. Who concerts for the BBC Proms. Recent and future work includes Don Giovanni (Glyndebourne)‚ Ibsen’s Emperor and Galilean (Royal National Theatre)‚ Sweeney Todd (Chichester Festival and Adelphi Theatre), and The Flying Dutchman (English National Opera—ENO), all with Jonathan Kent; Elektra (Salzburg), Parsifal (ENO), Don Carlos (Los Angeles), and Salome (Baden Baden) with Nikolaus Lehnhoff; Caligula (ENO) with Benedict Arnold; A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Porgy and Bess (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and Rebecca (Vienna and Stuttgart) with Francesca Zambello; Ariadne auf Naxos (Toronto) with Neil Armfield; Sweeney Todd (Royal Festival Hall) with David Freeman; Eugene Onegin (Opera Holland Park) with Daniel Slater; and, as revival director, La fanciulla del West (Paris Opera Bastille) and Peter Grimes (Canadian Opera Company).
