About the Artist: Wilson’s 2011 – 12 season includes the title role of Aïda at Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile, her Théâtre du Capitole debut (Toulouse) as Leonora in a new production of Il trovatore, her Carnegie Hall debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under Marin Alsop in Honegger’s Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher, Ravinia Festival debut as Elettra in Idomeneo with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under James Conlon, Beethoven’s Missa solemnis with the Charlotte Symphony, and her return to the Oregon Bach Festival in Tippett’s A Child of Our Time under new music director Matthew Halls. Recent engagements have included performances of Amelia in Un ballo in maschera (Washington National Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and Teatre Principal de Maó in Menorca, Spain), Alice Ford in Falstaff (Washington National Opera), Elettra in Idomeneo and Amelia Grimaldi in Simon Boccanegra (Canadian Opera Company), the title role in Aïda (Opera Australia), Ada in Die Feen (Oper Frankfurt), Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte (Los Angeles Opera), Beethoven’s Missa solemnis (John Nelson and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in Lisbon), Mozart’s Requiem (Milwaukee Symphony), Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2 (Grant Park Symphony Orchestra), in Verdi’s Messa da requiem (Oregon Bach Festival’s 40th Anniversary season opening), Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, and Marguerite in Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher.
