• Michael Sumuel will be performing in the Houston Symphony Messiah.
• Joshua Hopkins will be performing in the Mercury Baroque Messiah on Dec. 10.
• Albina Shagimuratova will be returning to sing Violetta in La Traviata and Ryan McKinny will be singing Collatinus in The Rape of Lucretia.
• Heidi Stober makes her Metropolitan Opera debut as Gretel in Hansel and Gretel.
• Myra Huang (Choi) will be the accompanist for the HGO Studio auditions in New York City.
• Ryan McKinny will be performing the world premiere of Shostakovich’s unfinished opera, Orango, with the LA Philharmonic.
• Several HGO Studio Alumni have been nominated for Grammys: Richard Paul Fink & Eric Owens are on Doctor Atomic (up for Best Opera Recording), Joyce DiDonato is up for Best Classical Vocal Solo and is on the Vivaldi Best Opera nominee Ercole Sul Termodonte. Jim Lowe is nominated as a producer of Anything Goes in Best Musical Theatre Album.
