About the Artist: Hendricks, a native of San Antonio, has emerged as one of today's most versatile baritones. From Monteverdi to Schreker, Mozart to Debussy, and Puccini to modern day composers, he has always maintained a diverse operatic diary and is now establishing himself as an important artist in the operas of Verdi and Wagner. On the international opera stage, Hendricks has performed the role of Scarpia in Tosca with Opéra National de Paris, Washington National Opera, and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich; the title role in Król Roger with Gran Teatre de Liceu, Tamare in Die Gezeichneten with De Nederlandse Opera, Jochanaan in Salome at La Monnaie, Marcello in La bohème with San Francisco Opera, Ford in Falstaff and the title role in Eugene Onegin with Santa Fe Opera, Posa in Don Carlos with the Oper der Stadt Köln, and critically acclaimed performances of Roderick in The Fall of the House of Usher and Carlo Gérard in Andrea Chénier with the Bregenzer Festspiele. Recently, Hendricks sang Macbeth with La Monnaie in Brussels, which received Opernwelt’s production of the year. Future engagements include debuts with the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera House in London.
