About the Artist: Nina Stemme performs with major opera companies worldwide, including those of Stockholm, Vienna, Dresden, Geneva, Zurich, Naples, and Barcelona as well as the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and the festivals of Bayreuth, Salzburg, Savonlinna, Glyndebourne and Bregenz. She is well known for her Isolde, and has recorded it twice: with Glyndebourne (Bĕlohlávek) and the Royal Opera, Covent Garden (Pappano). Her repertoire also includes Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Mimì in La bohème, Cio-Cio-San in Madame Butterly, the title roles in Tosca, Manon Lescaut, and Jenůfa, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, Katerina in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Marguerite in Faust, Nyssia in König Kandaules, the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Elsa in Lohengrin, Sieglinde in Die Walküre, and Brünnhilde in the Ring Cycle. Future engagements include Brünnhilde (Siegfried) at La Scala, Brünnhilde (Götterdämmerung) at Bavarian State Opera, Salome for the Stockholm and Zurich operas, and Ring cycles for Vienna State Opera. She is a Swedish Royal Court singer and a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Music, a winner of Italy’s Premio Franco Abbiati award and an Arts and Letters medal granted by H. M. the King of Sweden. She won a Laurence Olivier Award for her performance in Tristan and Isolde at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden. In 2012, she received the title of Kammersängerin of the Vienna State Opera.
