About the Artist: Morgan Pearse studied at the University of Sydney and its Sydney Conservatorium, as well as the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London. In 2013, he won the gold medal at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition. Roles include Lord Ellington in La vie parisienne at the RCM and the title role in Owen Wingrave with Sydney Chamber Opera. Last season at English National Opera, he performed Pompeo in Benvenuto Cellini directed by Terry Gilliam and Minos in Arianna in Creta at the RCM. He also sang the title role of Imeneo for London Handel Festival and the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, Garibaldo in Rodelinda, and James in the world premiere of Jude Obermüller's I Remember the Ship at the RCM. In Australia, he sang Apollo in L'Orfeo with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra on tour. Concerts and recitals include Schubert's Winterreise, Fauré's Requiem at the Sydney Opera House, performances of Britten's War Requiem throughout Poland, and Handel's Messiah with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs at Sydney Opera House. This summer, he will sing the role of Figaro in The Ghosts of Versailles at Wolf Trap Opera.
