Book/lyrics/director for Cruzar la Cara de la Luna/To Cross the Face of the Moon (2013 revival, tours to Théâtre du Châtelet, San Diego Opera, and Arizona Opera, and 2010 world premiere). As director, Dead Man Walking (2011), Last Acts (Three Decembers) (2008), and The End of the Affair (2004).

About the Artist: Leonard Foglia's directorial opera credits include the world premieres of Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer's Moby-Dick (Dallas Opera; San Francisco Opera, where it was also filmed for PBS's Great Performances; San Diego Opera; Calgary Opera; Opera of South Australia; and Washington National Opera); Joby Talbert and Gene Scheer's Everest (Dallas Opera); and El Pasado Nunca Se Termina/The Past Is Never Finished (Lyric Opera of Chicago). This summer he will direct the premiere of Jennifer Higdon and Gene Scheer's Cold Mountain at Santa Fe Opera. His theater credits include the original Broadway productions of Master Class with Zoe Caldwell, Audra McDonald, Patti LuPone, Dixie Carter, and Faye Dunaway; Thurgood with Laurence Fishburne (filmed for HBO); and The People in the Picture with Donna Murphy as well as the revivals of Wait Until Dark with Quentin Tarantino and Marisa Tomei and On Golden Pond with James Earl Jones and Leslie Uggams. Off Broadway as well as on tour he directed Anna Deavere Smith's Let Me Down Easy (filmed for PBS's Great Performances). He is the co-author, with David Richards, of five books, 1 Ragged Ridge Road, Face Down in the Park, and The Sudarium Trilogy: The Surrogate, The Son, and The Savior.
