  • He performs regularly at the Metropolitan Opera where, since 1991, he has given more than 240 performances of twenty-eight roles including Germont in La traviata, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and the title role of Rigoletto.
  • He has also appeared frequently at Lyric Opera of Chicago, most notably as Eddie Carbone in the world premiere of William Bolcom’s A View from the Bridge (a role he has also sung for Washington National Opera and the Met and recorded on New World Records).
  • He has also sung major roles at Seattle Opera, Cincinnati Opera, the Spoleto Festival, U.S.A., and Vienna State Opera, among others.

  • Recipient of many honors including a William Sullivan / George London Foundation Award and a Richard Tucker Career Grant
  • He has appeared on television in four broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera, all available on video recording: La fanciulla del West, R. Strauss’s Arabella, Carmen, and Billy Budd.
