About the Artist: Joseph Kaiser's career encompasses opera, oratorio, and concert throughout North America and Europe, and he has also starred in film - as Tamino in the 2007 Kenneth Branagh adaptation of The Magic Flute, conducted by James Conlon. His 2013-14 season encompasses performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Metropolitan Opera conducted by James Conlon, Salome at the Bavarian State Opera led by Asher Fisch, and The Magic Flute at Washington National Opera with Philippe Auguin. On the concert stage, he sings Mozart's Requiem with Ivor Bolton and the Vienna Symphony; Davidde Penitente with Louis Langrée and the Cincinnati Symphony; Berlioz's Te Deum with Charles Dutoit and the NHK Symphony Orchestra; Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Bernard Haitink and the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Britten's War Requiem and Cantata Misericordium with James Conlon and the symphonies of UCLA, USC, and The Colburn School; and his first performances of Florestan in Fidelio with Jérémie Rhorer and Le Cercle de l'Harmonie on a European tour. Past highlights include Paris Opera performances as Lensky in Eugene Onegin; Flamand in Capriccio in a Robert Carsen production conducted by Philippe Jordan; Matteo in Arabella opposite Renée Fleming; a return to the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, as Tamino in The Magic Flute; Adme`te in Alceste in a Christof Loy production at Vienna State Opera; and Steva Burya in Jenufa at the Bavarian State Opera.
