About the Artist: Forst is highly acclaimed for her operatic and concert performances throughout North America and in Europe in many of the world’s most prestigious theaters, including the Metropolitan, San Francisco, Bavarian State, Netherlands, Dallas, Washington, Vancouver, and Santa Fe operas, among others. In 2006, she made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan as the Kabinicha in Janacek’s Katya Kabanova. Forst began the 2009 – 10 season with her return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago for Katya Kabanova in addition to her performances with Houston Grand Opera. Engagements last season included the world premieres of Lillian Alling with Vancouver Opera and The Inventor for Calgary Opera. She was also heard as Herodias in Salome for L’ Opera de Montreal. Engagements in the 2011 – 12 season include Salome at the Manitoba Opera and The Inventor at Vancouver Symphony. Forst is recognized as one of Canada's most distinguished artists, having been honored with the Order of Canada.
