Refunds, Exchanges and Fees
Houston Grand Opera tickets are non-refundable. Full-season and Opera-To-order subscribers may exchange their tickets for a different performance of the same opera, subject to availability.

Exchanges can be made by phone until 24 hours before the performance begins; for exchanges within 24 hours of curtain time, please visit the box office in person.

Please note: Mini-series and non-subscription single tickets are not exchangeable. No exchanges are permitted after the performance has begun.

How to Exchange
In Person: at the Houston Grand Opera Box Office, located in the Wortham Theater Center at 550 Prairie Street. The Box office reopens for the season on October 1.

By Phone: Call Houston Grand Opera’s Customer Care Center at 713-228-OPERA (6737) during regular office hours and one of our representatives will assist you with your exchange.

When exchanging tickets by phone, you will be asked for your HGO Account Number, which is printed on your tickets and above your name on most Houston Grand Opera mailings. You may also be asked to provide your credit card number and expiration date along with your name, address, and a telephone number where you can be reached during business hours.

Exchanged tickets are mailed within 24 hours of processing, unless your new performance is within seven business days of the exchange. In that case, tickets will be held at the Will Call window at the Box Office under the subscriber's last name. They can be picked up beginning one hour and thirty minutes before the performance.

Ticket Donations
If you are unable to exchange your ticket for another performance of the same opera, we encourage you to donate your tickets back to the Opera to be resold; donated tickets are tax-deductible, and you will be provided with a receipt for tax purposes. Ticket donations may be made by calling Houston Grand Opera’s Customer Care Center, by e-mail, fax, mail, or in person at the Houston Grand Opera Box Office. The paper tickets do not need to be returned in order to donate them, but the donation must be made before the performance begins so that the Box Office has an opportunity to sell the tickets.
