About the Artist: Heidi Stober is currently a principal artist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she made her house debut in fall 2008 as Pamina in The Magic Flute. She has since appeared there in a variety of leading roles, including Micaëla in Carmen, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Oscar in A Masked Ball, and Nanetta in Falstaff. During the 2011–12 season she sang Atalanta with the San Francisco Opera and made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Gretel. In the summer of 2012 she will sing her first Zdenka in Arabella conducted by Sir Andrew Davis for The Santa Fe Opera. Past highlights include her San Francisco Opera debut as Sophie in Werther, her Santa Fe Opera debut as La Folie in Plateé, her role debut as Leïla in The Pearl Fishers with Opera Colorado, and her South American debut with Teatro Municipal in Santiago as Morgana in Alcina.
