About the Artist: Lapinski, a regular member of the directing staff at the Metropolitan Opera, has directed productions at such companies as San Francisco and Florida Grand operas, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Opéra de Montréal. Recent credits include staging for Verdi’s Ballo in Maschera in San Francisco; Verdi’s Rigoletto for Berkshire Opera; and Beethoven’s Fidelio in Barcelona, Chicago, and at the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House Covent Garden. She directed Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah in Palm Beach; Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Bizet’s Carmen, and Verdi’s Traviata at Connecticut Opera; and served as associate director for Seattle Opera’s 2005 Ring.
