Ticket Exchanges

How can I exchange my tickets?
(If you are a Patron level donor, please contact Rudy Avelar, Director of Patron Services to exchange your tickets for no fee)

Full-season and Opera-To-Order subscribers may exchange their tickets for a different performance of the same opera, subject to availability. Exchanges can be made by phone or online until 24 hours before the performance begins; for exchanges within 24 hours of curtain time, please visit the box office in person. Mini-series and non-subscription single tickets are not exchangeable. No exchanges are permitted after the performance has begun.

Telephone
Call Houston Grand Opera’s Customer Care Center at 713-228-OPERA (6737) during regular office hours and one of our representatives will assist you with your exchange.

In Person
Bring your tickets to the Houston Grand Opera Box Office.

What costs are associated with exchanges?
There is no fee to exchange a ticket, but subscribers exchanging from a performance in a lower-priced series to one in a higher-priced series may have to pay the difference in unit price at the time of exchange. When exchanging tickets online or by phone, please have your HGO account number available, along with your credit card number and expiration date.

How will I know that my exchange was received?
One of our Customer Care Representatives will call you once your exchange has been completed.

When will my exchanged tickets be mailed to me?
Exchanged tickets are mailed within 24 hours of processing, unless your new performance is within seven business days of the exchange. In that case, tickets will be held at the Will Call window at the Box Office under the subscriber's last name. They can be picked up beginning one hour and thirty minutes before the performance.
