About the Artist: Cutler is equally at home in the high lying roles of Bellini and Donizetti as with the major protagonists of Mozart and the French repertoire. He has sung with the Metropolitan, Boston Lyric, Paris, Pittsburgh, Santa Fe, and Vancouver operas; the Lyric Opera of Chicago; Opera Australia; the Canadian Opera Company; and at Royal Opera House, among others. Concert appearances have included those with the Minnesota Orchestra; the Boston, San Francisco, and Baltimore symphonies; the Los Angeles and Brooklyn philharmonics; and with the University Musical Society and the Metropolitan Opera Chamber Ensemble. Cutler has worked with renowned artists including Renée Fleming and Susan Graham, and has performed in recital at London’s Wigmore Hall, New York’s Weill Recital Hall, the Kennedy Center, and in Kansas City’s critically acclaimed Harriman-Jewel Series. Other performances have included those at the Salzburg, Tanglewood, Edinburgh, and Glyndebourne festivals; BBC Proms; Hollywood Bowl; and in a gala honoring Marilyn Horne at the University of Michigan. Cutler’s first solo recording (EMI, September 2003) was awarded the “Record of the Month” distinction from Opera News. A graduate of Luther College, Cutler received a Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Music Foundation (2000), a Tucker Career Grant (2001), and a Richard Tucker Award (2005). He was a winner of the Martin E. Segal Award from Lincoln Center (2001) and an ARIA award (2002). Cutler is an alumnus of the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and was a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (1998).
