About the Artist: D. M. Wood’s recent designs include Romeo and Juliet (Palm Beach Opera); Wild Swans (world premiere for American Repertory Theatre); Hansel and Gretel (Virginia Opera); Il trittico (Royal Opera, Covent Garden); Die Liebe der Danae (Bard Summerscape); Anna Nicole (world premiere co-design: Royal Opera); Moskva, Cheremushki (Long Beach Opera); Roberto Devereux (Montreal Opera); and Green Sneakers, Orpheus and Euridice and Glory Denied (Urban Arias, Washington, D.C.). She has also designed the lighting for productions of Werther, Roberto Devereux, The Barber of Seville, and Il trovatore (Minnesota Opera); Annie Get Your Gun (co-design: Young Vic, London); La Cenerentola (Glimmerglass Opera); The Magic Flute (Opera Colorado); Les Misérables (Copenhagen, Denmark), Tosca (Canadian Opera Company), La Cleopatra and Oedipus Rex (Graz Opera, Austria); Tristan and Isolde (Savonlinna Opera, Finland), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lyric Opera of Kansas City). Her work in theater includes designs for The Young Vic (London), American Repertory Theatre, Contemporary American Theater Festival, Primary Stages (New York City), Children’s Theatre Company (Minneapolis), Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Baltimore Centerstage, Trinity Repertory Company, and Philadelphia Theatre Company.
