About the Artist: This season, Schuler will design lighting for Lucia di Lammermoor (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Simon Boccanegra (LA Opera), and Elektra (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma). He made his Seattle Opera debut in Norma (1994) and has previously worked on operas including Die Zauberflöte (2011), Il barbiere di Siviglia (2011), Amelia (2010) with the company. Outside of his work with Seattle Opera, he has recently worked with the Metropolitan Opera on Boris Godunov, with Festspielhaus Baden-Baden on Salome, and with Royal Opera House, Convent Garden on Cendrillon.
