About the Artist: Dimitri Pittas has appeared on leading opera stages throughout North America and Europe, including debuts with the Bavarian State Opera; the Vienna State Opera; Royal Opera, Covent Garden; and the Canadian Opera Company. He is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and has been heard on the Met stage as Macduff in Macbeth, Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, and Tamino in The Magic Flute. His repertoire includes Alfredo in La traviata, Rodolfo in La bohème, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, and the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto. During the 2011–12 season, he made his debut with Canadian Opera Company as the Duke in a production by Christopher Alden, returned to the Metropolitan Opera to sing Macduff and Rodolfo, sang in the annual Marilyn Horne Foundation recital at Carnegie Hall, and returned to the Bavarian State Opera as Tebaldo in The Capulets and the Montagues following performances of Verdi’s Requiem with The Cleveland Orchestra. Pittas, a former apprentice artist with The Santa Fe Opera, has performed with that company regularly, including Achille in La belle Hélène, Narraboth in Salome, Rodolfo, and, most recently, as Nemorino.
