About the Artist: David Farley has designed for Broadway, the West End, and numerous regional theaters. His designs for Sunday in the Park with George, which was seen on Broadway and in the West End, won awards on both sides of the Atlantic: in the U.S., Farley won (with Timothy Bird) the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Set Design, and in the U.K., he won (with Bird) Olivier, Evening Standard, and Critics Circle awards for Best Set Design. Other Broadway credits include A Little Night Music and 13; West End credits include A Little Night Music and Little Shop of Horrors. Farley also designed the set for the original production of La Cage aux Folles at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Other theater credits include Take Flight, Travesties, and Are You There, McPhee? (McCarter Theater); Daddy Long Legs (Rubicon/Theatreworks/Cincinnati Playhouse/Arizona/Detroit/Chicago); Kiss Me, Kate (Stratford, Ontario); Terrible Advice, Aspects of Love, and Take Flight (Menier Chocolate Factory); Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest (Royal Dramatic Theatre Stockholm); Oklahoma! (Chichester); Rocky Horror Show (Europe); Sweeney Todd (Gate Theatre); Tick, Tick…Boom! (Chocolate Factory/Rubicon Theatre/Westport); and Macbeth (Japan). Work in opera includes Dialogues of the Carmelites for Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Farley also designed Josh Groban’s Straight To You international live music tour.
