About the Artist: Bel canto specialist Daniela Barcellona has sung the role of Isabella in The Italian Girl in Algiers in Rome, Dresden, Munich, Bilbao, and Oviedo. Last season, she sang Malcolm Groeme in La donna del lago at La Scala, the title role of Tancredi in a return to the Rossini Festival at Pesaro, Federica in Luisa Miller at La Scala, and Eboli in Don Carlo in Lima. Future engagements include a return to the Metropolitan Opera for further performances of La donna del lago, which she will also sing for her Santa Fe Opera debut and for the Royal Opera, Covent Garden; and Don Carlo in Turin. Previous performances include Adalgisa in Norma with the Israeli Opera, Amneris in Aida in a return to Valencia, the title role of Adelaide di Borgogna at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, and Marquise Melibea in The Journey to Rheims at La Scala. Her repertoire also includes the title role of Tancredi, Arsace in Semiramide, Ottone in Adelaide di Borgogna, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Angelina in Rossini’s Cinderella, Jane Seymour in Anne Boleyn, Leonora in La favorite, and Romeo in The Capulets and the Montagues. Her recent performances of Les Troyens with Valery Gergiev conducting will also soon be released on the Metis label.
