The Little Prince and After the Storm. Previously, as lighting designer: outdoor performances of The Magic Flute (2015); Otello (2014); Die Fledermaus (2014, 2013); Aida (2013); La bohème (2013, 2012); Il trovatore (2013); La traviata and The Rape of Lucretia (2012); The Marriage of Figaro (2011); Cruzar la Cara de la Luna/To Cross the Face of the Moon (2010); and outdoor productions of Madame Butterfly (2011), Tosca (2010), and Rigoletto (2009). As lighting realizer, The Magic Flute (2015), Mary Stuart (2012), The Queen of Spades (2010), and The Elixir of Love (2009). As associate lighting designer, Fidelio and Ariadne auf Naxos (2011). He also designed lighting for Studio Showcase (2014, 2009, 2008) and Concert of Arias (2015, 2014, 2013, 2012). He is the lighting supervisor for HGO.
About the Artist:
In addition to his work at HGO, Michael James Clark has designed lighting for Stages Repertory Theater productions of The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical, Honky Tonk Angels, and The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On. For Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, he lit Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music and The Coronation of Poppea. He holds a bachelor’s degree in lighting design from North Carolina School of the Arts.
