About the Artist: Albert Faura studied lighting design at the Theater Institute of Barcelona and took an international theater lighting course organized by the British Council in London. A member of Els Comediants theater collective, he has worked with directors Núria Espert, Adolfo Marsillach, Josep Maria Flotats, Nicolas Joël, Rafael Durán, Sergi Belbel, Alfredo Arias, Ferran Madico, Frédérico Alagna, Rosa Novell, Jordi Savall, and many others. He has designed lighting for Alan Ayckbourn’s Casa i jardi (House and Garden) at Teatro Bartrina and Teatro Fortuny (Reus); Gani Mirzo’s 1,001 Nights (Syracuse, Perelada, and Cordóba); The Magic Flute (Paris National Opera, Teatro Real, Ruhr Triennale Festival); Bretón’s La verbena de la Paloma (International Festival of Music and Dance in Grenada, Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Perelada Festival, and in Sagunto). For Gran Teatre del Liceu, his credits include The Journey to Rheims, Aida, The Magic Flute, and The Queen of Spades. He has won two Butaca Awards, a Max Award, and two Barcelona Critics’ Awards.
