About the Artist: Andrea Carroll joined the HGO Studio last season after winning first prize and the Audience Choice Award in HGO’s 2012 Eleanor McCollum Competition Concert of Arias. Other appearances include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro with Fort Worth Opera, singing Rose Segal and covering Elaine O’Neill in John Musto’s Later the Same Evening with the Glimmerglass Festival, Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Wolf Trap Opera, and Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas with Utah Opera, a role she will repeat for her debut at Washington National Opera. In summer 2013, she returned to Wolf Trap Opera to sing Corinna in Il viaggio a Reims. Recent honors include a 2012 award from the Sullivan Foundation, second prize in the Gerda Lissner Foundation competition, and a regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions encouragement award. Future engagements include Julie in Carousel at the Glimmerglass Festival, Leila in The Pearl Fishers at Utah Opera, and Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos with Seattle Opera.
